Carson Beach

A view across the bay of the Edward J.
McCormack Bathhouse at Carson Beach

Carson Beach is a regional beach with good water quality. The newly restored Edward J. McCormack Bathhouse is a year-round gathering place for local residents and visitors. The bathhouse, one of the first facilities completed as part of the "Back to the Beaches" effort, offers showers, changing facilities, public restrooms, water fountains and foot showers for beachgoers. New sand, new walkways, benches, lighting, shade shelters and award winning landscaping have helped to make Carson Beach a popular destination. The newly renovated Mother's Rest provides an excellent place to sit and enjoy the wonderful views of the Harbor or to enjoy a waterfront picnic. Owned and operated by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Access: Parking lots are available adjacent to the bathhouse. The beach is also accessible via public transportation. Take the MBTA Red Line to the UMASS/JFK stop and walk across Day Boulevard or take the City Point #11 bus from the MBTA Red Line's Broadway Station to the G Street stop.
