Dorchester Beaches: Tenean Beach
Tenean Beach is a great swimming beach. It features swimming areas and picnic shelters and the new playground, boardwalk, promenade, and new sand at the northern end of the Beach have really help improve the area. The beach is truly one of Boston's best-kept secrets. Other recent amenities as a result of the "Back to the Beaches" program include new water fountains, bike racks, shelters and picnic areas. Owned and operated by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. Access: There is parking
at Tenean Beach for approximately 150 cars. It is also accessible via
public transportation. Take the MBTA Red Line to Fields Corner Station and
transfer to the Quincy Station Newport #210 bus. Take the bus to the 239
Neponset Avenue stop and walk about ten minutes to reach the beach. |
